Amount: The Best Overall Winner for 2009 received a cash prize of $5,000 and a trip to Disney World in Orlando, FL to see engineering in action through the Disney Y.E.S program. But … the 2009 theme was the engineering involved in theme parks. I could not determine if the prizes are the same each year.
Who is Eligible: High School Students Compete in Teams for 4 to 8 students. Irritated that you didn’t hear about this while you were still in high school? There are opportunities to coach a team to victory.
Summary: TEAMS is an annual theme-based academic competition giving students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to discover engineering and how they can make a difference in the world.
Students become part of the action as they work together and use the practical applications of math and science to answer engineering questions about everyday world challenges.
What will students tackle in 2010? The critical and global need of providing access to one of nature’s most vital resources on earth: clean water.

Deadline: TEAMS 2010 Registration Opens September 2009, Competitions take place February 15 to March 16, so I assume they cutoff registrations sometime before that.
Even though the time frame to compete is several weeks, the competition only takes one day and the date is selected by the competition site.
P.S. This is not a scholarship or even money that can be used for college. However this is so likely to help you with applying for other scholarships, that I felt it should be included on this website
